In the early days of association football, Friendly Football Matches (or “friendlies”) were the most common type of games played. At London Town FC, we have only played competitive games and have only once played a friendly game, which we won 7 1.

Friendly football matches are considered to be non-competitive and are only used to “warm up” players for a new season/competitive match. At London Town FC we play football to compete and whenever, whomever and wherever we play we want to win.

There is usually nothing competitive at stake and some rules may be changed or experimented with; such as unlimited substitutions, which allow teams to play younger, less experienced, players, and no cards. But then this is football and nothing should be taken for granted.
